Welcome home gift ideas?

Wondering if any MNers can help me with a gift idea to say thank you for the digs!

Our friends are letting us stay in their house soon while they’re on holiday( I asked if we could stay).

We’ll be staying in the middle of their holiday but I wanted to get them something to say thank you/welcome home... one of them is on a strict healthy eating diet so feel like chocolates would be a bit of a nuisance really, plus i’m worried any flowers would die by the time they’re back. They have a substantial cellar already.

I was going to cook a nice healthy meal to put away for them to have the evening they get home but again worried it will spoil by the gums they’re back!

Any more imaginative ideas, please? I’m having a bit of a block Grin

A nice basket of fruit with a ribbon? Hits the healthy eating, will not go off (depending on the fruit, obviously!!), colourful and a nice gesture. If you don't have time to make one up yourself, there are companies that will do it for you including Interflora. Search for bouquet of fruit present on Google and you'll get several companies suggested.

Or you've said they have a good wine cellar - what about a nice cheese hamper with crackers etc to make the most of it, if they like cheese? Again, if you don't have time to pop down to Waitrose, Sainsbury's or the local market and choose some little tasters at the cheese counter, there are a few companies that would do this kind of thing - there's the Bristol Cheesemonger, Cheeseworks Cheltenham and several others that offer this service.
