I’m sure this thread occurs this time every year so I apologise in advance.

Just feeling horrible about DS starting on Saturday. My other DS is moving abroad with his Dad. I know I’m going to cry the whole journey (4 hrs each way just me & him). I know he needs to live his life but they are my life.

I don’t know what I’m going to do. I miss him already 😢

There is a thread about this that may help you - it's in the Higher Education section - "DS off to Uni and I'm struggling" - you may get some useful advice and support if you post on there? My DS has just started sixth form and already I am getting slight pangs about him going to uni as I know it will come around very quickly! I am trying to do things now to ensure that I can cope with this when the time comes, eg increasing work hours, social activities, exercise etc. I do hope you are OK, as you sound quite distraught, and obviously the situation with your other son must be difficult to cope with too. Perhaps think about seeing a GP if you are really low? Best wishes for Saturday, you will get through it.

My Dd moved on Saturday to Dundee. I wasn't sleeping on the lead up to Saturday. On Saturday driving home I felt a bit lost.

Fortunately I've been at work this week, and been busy after work. She has FaceTimed me with any rants 😂 but she seems to be doing. She is home tomorrow as we have a Wedding. We also have a uni chat in Scotsnet for us parents.
