Manchester to Whitby?

Anyone know Yorkshire?

Driving to Whitby for weekend. Wanted someone where to stop on way there. Somewhere halfway to break up the journey.

Any nice village type things on the way. Somewhere like Kirby Longsdsle would be lovely (even better if there is a booths!)

Any ideas?

Only Booths are Ilkley or Ripon- neither are on the way

Kirby Lonsdale would be a massive detour on that trip as you'll probably travel M62 you'll be passing York which is a lovely city and then as you approach Whitby you'll go through Pickering which is a nice spot. Personally I always just like to get straight to Whitby as it's one of my favourite places and I love a slice of cake at Sandars YardGrin

I think York, Pickering or Malton are probably your best bets along that route 😊

I’ll check marlin out. Was thinking maybe old emmerdale set or fountains abbey but that might be a nightmare and off beaten track!

Would Skipton be too far? Is it nice?!

Malton is a nice town town to stop in with plenty to occupy a couple of hours. A little closer to Whitby is Dalby Forest which is lovely for a picnic on a nice day.

Skipton is quite a way out and only an hour or so from Manchester?
How about Helmsley?
