No poo!

I've recently switched my 6 month old over from breast milk to formula. We ended up going cold turkey on breast milk as gradually dropping feeds wasn't working.

Im aware that this is more than likely the reason she's not had a poo, but how long should I wait before I start to worry?

Is there anything I can do to help move things along?

She last had a proper poo on Sunday morning, and a tiny bit today, and I mean the tiniest bit ever!

She was last breastfed on Saturday morning, been on formula since then.

Will call HV tomorrow, no one there at the moment, but so far as they've been as helpful as a Chocolate teapot with other questions!

TIA

"Normal" to go at least every 3 days. May be worth trying a little cooled boiled water. Presume you've already been doing leg cycling etc. Chat to your HV if worried.

NB Chocolate teapots are useful. They're made of chocolate!

Yeah been doing called boiled water, massage and bycicle legs.

I'm guess it's on the way as there was a little bit today. Might try warm bath tonight actually.

Haha very true! I could really do with some chocolate now!

Diluted apple juice used to help my DC go. Just an ounce or so of 1/4 to 1/2 juice mixed with water.

Are you weaning? Some prune purée should sort that right out (alongside cooled boiled water.)
Interested in the cold turkey approach - did your baby always take a bottle or did you do the whole switch to bottle and formula at once? I have a 5.5 mo and she refuses the bottle, or rather can't work out how to latch on it. I'd like to switch to formula at some point so I can get Botox and fillers and arrest the process of me looking like my mother have a bit of freedom here and there.

We just had a bit more poo! Definitely harder, as expected, needs more to come out.

Did think about prune juice, forgot to pick it up.

Hoppipola

Yes we had major issues with bottles. We'd been trying since 3 weeks old and she just wouldn't take them. We got minbie bottles and she finally latched on but wouldn't take much milk, expressed or formula.

We kept doing one a day but it's as if she knew she'd be getting me later so would take a bit to keep her going.

Stopped taking expressed milk all together.

I fed her on a sat morning before going to work and then went away for the weekend. Got other people to feed her. Was back Sunday night and she now takes bottles.

We are also weaning as well, is a very slow process!

@Dolphin1986 thanks so much. I think we'll give that a go.
Hope the poonami once it comes isn't too awful!

These are brilliant at relieving baby constipation! You don't need much. That's a slight warning! 😱🙈💩

No poo!

@nowordforfluffy

Thanks! Will keep that in mind for next time.
We've had a few little bits of poo today. May pick one of these up tomorrow.
