Utterly terrified

Sold our old car at the weekend, to a motor trader who we thought was running his own smaller version of we buy any car.

Did the notification of change of owner online but the postcode didn’t really match the street. Then realised there was only a mobile number on his website, no address or landline. Website said certificate of disposal if car gets scrapped when correct term is destruction.

Now I’m terrified that we’ve been scammed and will get fines and alsorts turning up for a car we don’t have anymore. I feel sick with worry and don’t know what to do.

When you rung him to check the address, what did he say. -the postcode was correct or what?

Generally these motor traders, especially the smaller ones, don't change the keeper's name into their own name. Not worth it, I suppose, as they're hoping to sell it on pdq.
