Ear piercings, I'm such an idiot

Just had my ears re-pierced, had them done a few times as a teenager but let them close up due to not being able to wear them at work etc, anyway been meaning to have them done again for ages and as I was wandering around town decided to have them done this morning... then remembered I have an operation a week from today and will have to take all jewellery off, oops. Do you think they'll close up? You're meant to keep them in for 4 to 6 weeks to heal. Can't believe I forgot Hmm

Do you have to take them out? They told me I'd have to take mine out for my c sec but they taped them for me instead

That's a good thought, I could ask I suppose Grin

If you go to a reputable piercer (the kind that uses a needle and surgical grade titanium jewellery, not a gun) they may be able to swap out the earrings temporarily for something made of an inert plastic base (think it's called bioplast?) to keep the holes open.

If you were pierced with a needle and the piercer used internally threaded labret earrings then it won't be too painful to have them swapped out temporarily for an inert alternative, then the ordinary earrings put back in. If you were pierced with a gun (and if so, why??!!) then it will probably hurt a bit more to get the butterflies off, but a reputable piercer will still be able to do that for you - and they can put in some titanium labrets for you afterwards too!
