Hello, I home educate my 9 year old boy but consider school again. The reason for school is more socialization. I am not a native speaker and I want my son to speak good English. Now we live in a village in south Cambridge but in two months time we need to relocate. We are thinking about Saffron Walden or Cambourne, as it is more affordable there. Also we are thinking about moving to North Devon:) I would appreciate any advice on a good, friendy, relaxed primary school. Ideally something like Summerhill (democratic school). Thank you very much for your advice

I forgot to mention that the boy has ADHD.

I think you should post in MN Local. I'm not from the area you mention. I'm not sure what a "democratic" school is - if it has a local meaning in the area. Or do you just mean a state school- which the overwhelming majority of MN posters send their children to?

Summerhill is an alternative school - free-range education , for anyone wondering what a democratic school is.
