Are there any supplements that help improve a child's concentration

DS is 10 and I'd like some opinions on whether or not there are supplements worth taking that could help improve his concentration. He's bright, eats a reasonably ok diet (but doesn't eat any fish at all), gets plenty of exercise and isn't staying up late etc. Someone suggested cod liver oil, which I'd be happy to get for him especially since he doesn't have any fish in his diet but would be interested to hear if there's any other supplements worth trying.

What has or really hasn't worked for you? Thanks

No idea about supplements sorry but a side thought - has he had an eye test recently?

Definitely nothing wrong with his eyesight, he's able to read/write perfectly, it's just his concentration I'm concerned about.

Omega 3-6-9 fish oil capsules were recommended to me by ds's paed.

Try diffusing a blend of basil, lime and peppermint essential oils, or making a roller that he can apply to pulse points when he needs to focus.

Thankyou Lessstressedhemum - is there any particular brand/type that you'd recommend? There's so many to choose from! I will certainly try the oil blends as well, have been meaning to get a diffuser for the house.

Ds used to take eye-q which was in liquid form or chewy capsules.

Mine just take the capsules from Holland and Barrat. They wouldn't take the liquid because it tastes foul and the autistic ones don't like the chewy ones.

I see Solgar do a Omega 3-6-9 capsule that apparently has no after-taste so I think I'll try that, give it 3 months and see how he goes. Thanks Smile
