I have three months to find a job

So today I cracked and handed in my notice. I have hated my job since I got it and been applying for stuff on and off for the last 2 years. Today was another shit day and I thought fuck it, life is to short so I handed in my notice. I have to give three months notice so I now have three months to find a new job.

I have been looking tonight and found 4 to apply for so I am feeling hopeful but I know this is going to change as the days tick by and I get nervous.

Any one got any top tips for getting a job? My only strategy at the moment is to apply for EVERYTHING.

Make sure you tailor your applications for each job. Some places use scanning software as initial selection and if the right words aren't in...

Good luck!

Consider different options, such as being an interim.

Definitely tailor your CV to each job.
Use bullet points covering each of your core skills, think about your current role and how you would advertise it. That sounds weird but it will make you think about the actual tasks you perform, you’ll be surprised how much there is.
Make sure you get someone to proof-read it for you, I get lots of CVs where people say that have great attention to detail, but then they have silly errors in the text.
When you get an interview, research the company. It shows you are keen and engaged.
Think about what to say when they ask why you left your previous role. Although you hated it, put a positive spin on your reasoning.
Hope that helps. Good Luck!

Have you done another job in the same sector that was good, so you are looking for something similar in a different firm, or do you want to change direction?

What sort of sector - public sector, private, big corporate or small firm?
