When did you resume exercise after c section?

I'm 4 weeks post c section and really keen to start doing some proper exercise, not just walks. How long did you wait to run/cycle/use weights?

I didn't actually do very much exercise at all during pregnancy because I had awful sickness and hip pain so my body isn't exactly used to it right now either.

I did a spin class at 5 weeks pp after a c section. But it was a planned c section (if that makes a difference), and I had exercised a lot the whole way through pregnancy. I went back to weights at about 12 weeks pp. I tried running but it was obviously not the right thing to do so stopped, and resumed running/jumping at about 8 months pp.

EMCS. Started slow running at 10 weeks pp. Was super fit before pregnancy and did quite a bit during pregnancy.

I was back running at 9 weeks but worked up to it from 4 weeks. Started walking fast, jogging/trotting with a running buggy, doing gentle weights etc by 7 weeks.

Started back at body pump 8 weeks after. Kept weights low and slowly building back up.

Emergency crash section under GA.

I walked 5km 4 days later and was running 5km within 6 weeks but I think that was unusual and I’m lucky I healed quickly.

I was still running 5km albeit slowly 2 weeks before giving birth so reasonably fit. Ironically much fitter than I am now - I was back running faster and took less time off after a pregnancy and c-section than a recent broken foot.

I didn’t do anything with weights or abs for about 9 weeks and took that slowly.

I had an emcs under GA and was quite sore for a while afterwards. I started going to the gym again around 8 weeks pp.
I did spin class until I was 36 weeks pregnant (balance issues). So was very active throughout my pregnancy however afterwards I really struggled. I think it really depends on how you feel and what you feel you're able to do without going too far.

You're my hero. I'm 18 months in. I have recently started a Parkrun, to be fair it's only been 3 weeks and only once a week.
