Recommendations for salt + sulfate free shampoo?

Does anyone have any recommendations for this type of shampoo to use after the Brazilian / keratin blow dry?

I normally use a good one from Keratin Kits via Amazon (www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009RN2VNA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A32P6JYJDRDQMB&psc=1%29&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum--chat-3355632-Recommendations-for-salt-sulfate-free-shampoo" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009RN2VNA/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A32P6JYJDRDQMB&psc=1) but am getting a bit bored of it.

I tried one from Osmo a while back which, while admirably cheap, was very drying - so wouldn't want to use that one again.

PS The Keratin Kits one I get is £7.99

L'oreal EverPure is excellent and you can buy 2 for £8 at Superdrug (I tend to buy the shampoo and conditioner).

I use the Moisture bottle which smells amazing (rosemary and mint, if I recall correctly)

That's what I use post-Keratin treatment.

Thanks, LaLa - that's a very good promotion! Do you know if it's salt free as well as sulfate free? (The ingredients aren't listed on either the Superdrug website or on amazon)?

This link shows one of the range called Happy Naturals at Sainbury.

I like using these, but I don't know if there is any salt in there, just that they are SLS free due to my scalp. Seems they are on offer right now, so I might stock up.

the best sulphate free shampoo ive tried is the OGX Orchid Oil one for coloured hair.

I’ve recently bought a good one from holland and Barrett of all places - Karine Jackson.

Tesco’s own version of the Pantene... it’s 90p a bottle and sulphate free. I think it’s the Pro V Volume Shine shampoo. It’s recommended on the Curly Girls UK website.

You’ll also need a silicone free conditioner, or at least one with water soluble silicone otherwise it builds up because the surface free shampoo isn’t strong enough to wash it out.

(Speaks from 5+ years of Brazilian blow dry experience)

There's one about £3 in the world health and beauty section of Tesco called olive something.

Aridane · 05/09/2018 10:33

ah, fatty, I think I have the conditioner in that range - a marvellously inexpensive way of getting an intensive conditioner is by buying from the products aimed at black / mixed hair

I think the challenge is that whilst lots of shampoos are sulfate free, relatively few are also salt free

Aridane - I agree that ethnic haircare is a great, cheap resource. Despite being white my hair is desperate to turn itself into an afro and gets bigger and wider as the day goes on! Not on my watch, I WILL have straight ish hair. Hadn't thought about salt, what's the problem with it?

Aridane · 05/09/2018 18:42

Apparently it strips the keratin from the treated hair as to soul fates
