Child Maintenance. How much is reasonable?

I have seen quite a lot of threads on here where NRPs pay shockingly little amounts in child maintenance.

Do any of you receive an amount that you are happy with and think is fair?
Or if you don't receive a fair amount, what amount would you be happy with?

Trying to figure out what is fair and who is being unreasonable.

I know the amount received is based on the paying parents income and everyone's circumstances are different. But generally (apart from where SN etc) don't all kids cost roughly the same amount. So I'm wondering what is thought to be a fair amount (not talking about millionaires here).

Have you checked on the government website for child maintenance, I used that and my exdp is going to pay what that recommends, it depends on how often the child stays with the other party etc .

Hi thank you yes I have checked the maintenance calculator. So I know what amount has to be paid. I am just wondering whether people think this amount is fair or an amount that people would be happy to receive.

A quarter of my weekly earnings is what I would pay and then I would pay half for any big expenses like school clothes and holidays. I've no kids but I feel that's fair.
