Childminder or nursery?

I have DS who is 2.5 and quite shy and reserved. The sort of child who watches from the sidelines rather than jumps in but is quite happy at home or with family/friends.

I need to consider some childcare for 1-2 mornings per week as I’ve been offered a part time degree funded by my employer
and need time to actually do it!

I can’t decide where to go from here. Do I put him in nursery as he will be going there anywhere when he is 3 or do I start nursery as that’s where he will be staying when he hits 3 and gets the hours anyway?

How easy is it to settle shy children into a nursery setting and is 1 day per week enough?

My heads confused trying to do the best for him Blush

At his age I would say preschool if you can make it work.

My friend is a fab childminder but id not use her nor any other one. When she is on holiday you have to have alternative cover, she is ill you’re fucked. If her kids are ill you’re fucked.
