Jacqueline Pearce has died. Best known as Servalan in Blake's Seven. She was marvellous in that. Condolences to her family and friends.

RIP Servalan

I agree

RIP Jacqueline aka Supreme Commander . I remember Blakes 7 and for all its faults I found it great.

Another who remembers Blake’s 7 and Servalan was a great villain. I even bought the tapes.
Condolences to friends and families.

I loved Blake’s 7 and Jacqueline Pearce was wonderful. So sad she has gone.

TigerDrankAllTheWaterInTheTap · 03/09/2018 22:08

I adored Blake's 7. Such a good theme tune. Avon was a marvellous character too.

Another huge fan here. Even with the dodgy stage props. I loved Blake's 7. RIP

SoupDragon · 03/09/2018 22:16

Siri refers to me as Supreme Commander.

:( RIP

She was great in the role. I'm really sorry to hear this. I was really upset when Gareth Thomas died. He lived locally to me and we met when working at the local radio station one afternoon 24 years ago. While we didn't see each other very often, due to his work schedule, we always had a laugh together. He was a lovely man and he spoke fondly of his co-stars.

drigon · 04/09/2018 00:16

Yes, great villain and I loved her hairstyle! RIP Jacqueline.

AornisHades · 04/09/2018 00:18

Loved Blakes 7. She was very good at being evil and beautiful in the role.

Deathraystare · 04/09/2018 07:41

Ooooh Noooo. My little bro' used to fancy her!!!

Jacks was a fabulous woman. Had a very tough life in so many ways - regular bouts of depression, cancer twice (before this one), periods of extreme poverty - then some years ago went off to live in Africa and help run a monkey sanctuary where she found a lot more happiness. Returned back here to live in 2015 although has been doing the convention circuit for some time where she was universally adored for her fruity language, her stories, her very frank and open nature about her difficulties yet always laughing, so warm. I never actually saw Blake's 7 and knew her best from two Hammer films. If you can get hold of her autobiography, From Byfleet to the Bush, I recommend it. Not a huge amount of Blake's 7 in there, it's mostly about her life rather than her acting work. She was a much underrated actress who never got the breaks and whose mental health sometimes stopped her getting the roles. Lovely, lovely lady.

Yes, great villain and I loved her hairstyle! RIP Jacqueline.

Not many could have carried off such a harsh short cut . But Jacqueline did , wonderfully.

Satsumaeater · 04/09/2018 09:54

So sad to hear this - was a massive Blakes 7 fan. RIP.

Mrsfrumble · 04/09/2018 09:57

I loved Blake's 7, and she was so fabulous.
Servalan and Avon had great chemistry, didn't they?

FermatsTheorem · 04/09/2018 10:07

She was indeed a great villain in Blake's 7. Part of my childhood/teens. RIP.

HolyMountain · 04/09/2018 10:10

She was the first woman on TV who inspired me to get super short hair and Servalan is a great name.

Leesa65 · 04/09/2018 20:28

Mrsfrumble

They certainly did.

Leesa65 · 04/09/2018 20:29

I am sure there was a poster on here at one point .

Her name intrigued me as it was SupremeCommander (can't remember if she had Servalan at the end though or not)

cueominousmusic · 05/09/2018 01:37

She was an incredibly striking looking woman, and made Servalan a truly memorable character.

PhaedrasChocolate · 05/09/2018 01:40

Oh I'm really sad to hear this.

Servalan was a brilliant character, and Jacqueline Pearce was a fabulous actor. She sounds like an inspiring woman. RIP.

ReanimatedSGB · 05/09/2018 01:47

Another one who was a huge fan of Servalan. I remember there was a Facebook thing a while back where you were supposed to list your top three role models growing up - mine were Servalan, Suzi Quattro and Nanny Ogg.

(The thing not everyone knows is that Blake's 7 hugely influenced a lot of people of a certain age who then went on to get into the fetish club scene. We mostly wanted to either be, or shag, Servalan or Avon. Apart from my mate L who fancied Vila.)
