Why are uniform marking pens...

....so shit and come out blurry when you write?!

Evidently a new school parent error. I will iron on the labels I forgot I had instead.

What are your school related errors?

I agree, they're crap.
I often just use a biro. They do fade though so need redoing.

I use a staedtler one that has a very fine tip and bleeds less

cjt110 · 03/09/2018 17:02

Mine's like that dementedpixie but was from Asda. It's shit.

I think it's the labels that are the problem sometimes rather than the pen. Most of mine went on ok this time

AveABanana · 03/09/2018 17:31

I'd like a white one that actually works for the maroon/navy/black stuff we have.

Sharpie markers.

So much better than those silly uniform marking pens and if you get the fine nib one they write small.

And to stop the blurring on the label roughly colour the label in with a pencil first.

I use stamptastic stamp for dd's stuff. Ds is starting nursery so have just remembered to order one for him. They also stock a white fabric marker which is good for darker items. But does take a bit of practice to get the writting neat as it is thick.

SerialNameChangerMe · 03/09/2018 18:48

I've given up labelling and use biros on labels!

Oh and as for parent errors. I pulled out the bag of new labeled school uniform from the pile of stuff I was about to take into the charity shop this morning. So glad I saw her hat on top of it all or there would have been tears tomorrow night!
