Quick question re Frozen Mash...

I usually cook it in the microwave before using and did the same last time I made a cottage pie and then sort of carefully layered it onto the mince.

Can I cut out the middle step and just lay the frozen mash on top and cook like that?

You can get it in discs, tube shapes or cuboid. It's great!

It's sunk a wee bit but I've forked it a bit and popped it back in while the carrots are cooking

I am blatantly place marking to see the results. It is a genius idea!

@WaxOnFeckOff - looks delicious.
At school I was taught to crunch up a bag of crisps (70s childhood), mix with grated cheese and sprinkle on top before putting it under the grill. I was also taught to add baked beans to browned mince for the mincy veggie bit.
Yummy.

So, here it is. My lessons learned would be to use a different dish to try to eliminate gaps. I'd normally have a bit more mash on by was constrained by the design!

I can confirm it was delicious. Even if I say so myself. DH is out so his is left for later if I can stop picking at the crunchy bits..
