School uniform mistakes....

My youngest starts secondary school tomorrow. I lay awake most of last night worrying because I'd forgotten to get him a PE too in his house colours with his surname embroidered on the front.

I phone the uniform shop first thing and order one, and pay for super speedy delivery.

Just going through my uniform stash to stick labels on and I find a perfect PE top, all embroidered with his name. It was obviously the first thing I'd bought and completely blanked it out.

Argh! Oh well, at least I have a MN expensive spare!

Please tell me I'm not the only flakey school Mum Grin

Grin At least you'll have a spare so you can have one in the wash. Smile
I always have an anxiety dream in the summer holiday that it's the first day of school and I've not got all the uniform, so have to keep them off school and rush round the shops buying it. Fingers crossed i think I've got everything!

I bought black trousers instead of grey!
To be fair, it was the last thing that was done on a shopping trip with 3 y.o. and 6 y.o. so my brain was a bit scrambled by then. Thankfully they are just extras, so he's got some for school when he goes back. I can pop to the shops and swap them on Wednesday. Its still a 30 minute round trip though, but at least I won't have children with me!

Im probably a lot worse. I had DD going back a day early.

I was due in work.

I have had to ask for A/L. I looked online at the school website yesterday, just to see if their were any special notices about the 1st day back. I couldnt believe my eyes when I saw the date Blush

I lost thr new uniform between the shop and the car... it must have fallen out of the buggy basket somehow.

At least you have a spare for when the other goes missing (despite it having his name on it😫)

Last year I bought a gorgeous skirt and some tights for DD. She has special needs, including very low muscle tone and hyper mobility. She thought me helping her get tights on was the funniest thing ever, and wriggled about all over the place. It was like trying to get an angry octopus into a rubber glove. She now has lots of lovely trousers.

I bought long sleeve shirts instead of short and black plimsolls instead of white ones.

I'm sure the other errors will be pointed out to me on Wednesday.

🤦🏻‍♀️

I bought a pe kit in duplicate only to find out today that they dont change for pe and that yes it is on the uniform list but only for year 1 onwards.

Cant return it as has her name stamped in so it will be put onto rotation for play clothes

Glad it's not just me.

I'm more annoyed I lost sleep over it, when I already had it!

If I had found it, I would have taken it to the shop. Its worth giving them a ring.
