has anyone else heard this? i just paid for a few things on the self-service tills in poundland near work, and they seem to have new audio prompts in the style/voice of elvis. weirdly they were pretty quiet so i couldn’t properly hear, but things like “one for the money, two for your card” for payment options and “shake rattle and roll” for take your change.
i thought it was pretty cringe but the primary aged kids at the next til seemed to like it. would poundland have had to pay royalties to elvis’ family to use his voice/vocal likeness?
