Trying to register DD for a sports club. I want her to go in group 2 (mainly for logistical reasons, I will admit) so I spoke to the coaches and they agreed and said it would be good for her as she plays above her level and would easily cope with G2 and would be with the members of her team who are all moving up. She is technically too young for G2.
Go to register and they have changed the system. You have to have an account and register your DC rather than just filling out a form where you manually enter DoB. Wouldn't accept DD on G2 because they must automatically filter by DoB.
Call up the central office. No, you can't do it etc. I explained it had been agreed with the coach and asked to be passed to the boss.
She said the same, can't be done because the system doesn't allow it. So I asked if I should register her with G1 and send her to G2 (would mess up free spaces allocation on course) or what the best course of action would be. She told me they don't check the details that the parents put on the form are correct, so as far as she knows I could enter 20 children for a course. Then she said I could e.g. create a child with the wrong date of birth and then next year add another child to my profile with a different date of birth. I asked if she meant I should do this and register DD with a fake DoB. She said no, and then in an exaggerated slow voice said "but. we. do. not check. the. details"
I took this to mean that unofficially she was telling me to do this. So I created a "fake child" with all the correct details apart from the year of birth.
Now all hell has broken loose because I've entered her in the system wrong and they can't change it and marry it up with the database they already have (she's already in it from last school year when she was in G1). As I did it online and I've paid by credit card they can't cancel my application so I can put her through in G1 with the correct DoB and send her to G2
