Can't decide if this is cheeky or prudent

I'm waiting in the bank and they have a water dispenser. Someone sent in their daughter to get a couple of cups of water - they weren't using the bank, just came in for the water.

My first instinct was it was a bit cheeky, but actually is it? It wasn't the last drops during a drought, just a couple of cups of water.

I'm still waiting to be seen so thought I'd ask - cheeky or not?

Not cheeky. There is something called Refill which helps you find somewhere to fill your own bottle up with water to help reduce plastic waste. I always take my bottle with me and have been known to fill it for later from a jug on the table if I’m eating out.

Obviously they probably took plastic cups in this case so weren’t reducing waste but generally I couldn’t get worked up about it.

Prudent I would say. The sort of thing my mum did when she was raising 5 young children as a widow.
