House of Fraser refund

hi there
does anyone have up to date information on these?

I sent a web order back about 3 weeks ago and no sign of a refund or any reply from the customer services email.

I should probably start trying to get a chargeback now, I guess, I haven't done this before, so not sure how they work.

Have you called them to confirm receipt? I'd be concerned they haven't received it if you've heard nothing?

I was under the impression that people were waiting 40 mins on the phone just to be told "I don't know", given the current state of HoF.

Omg i didn't realise what was happening with HoF ..I ordered a sofa from them last week with the last of my savings Sad does anyone know what's going on? I haven't received any emails saying the order is cancelled and they took the money out of my account

Summer, I'm guessing you've ordered in a store, the website hasn't been actually been up for a while? So best to go there?

No I actually ordered it online, they phoned the next day to confirm the order and I haven't heard anything from them since.

I do have a store nearby though so I'll go in there when I get the chance to see what's going on. I'm so worried, it was the last of my savings and we desperately do need the new sofa

I ordered a dress and sent it back, just before they went into meltdown and were taken over by Mike Ashley.

I waited ages for a refund and got hold of them eventually, to be told that the refund time can be up to 14 working days. Which actually means three weeks if you add on weekends.

Oh god I feel sick. I actually persuaded my partner to let us buy this sofa. He has a really bad temper, this past couple of months has been so good as he has been taking medication that has helped him control his moods but this is going to tip him over the edge again Sad

Foxy, yes I will give it a week more I think.

Summer, so the website was up and running when you ordered, I thought it had been as per today for about three weeks. If at some point it went back up, and you ordered, I would hope it would be all right.

That's so weird, I had no idea that the website had been down until I read your thread. It was up and running when I ordered on Thursday and they phoned me back the next day to confirm the order.

Hi ladies,

I have purchased a 70 pound cream at House of Fraser online on the 10th August. Nothing arrived, no update, nothing. On the 16th they sent a blanket email saying a refund will be sent bla bla bla. I have emailed their customer service several times - no reply.

So I called my bank today after reading this thread and asked to initiate a chargeback. They filled in some internal form and their claims team will be in touch with me within 5 days.

I am happy to keep you all posted. I am not sure what the flipside of this chargeback procedure is, i.e. will it leave a footprint on my credit score? But it is worth doing - this is our consumer right. It is crazy HOF kept taking orders when they knew full well what was coming for them.
