Slapped cheek syndrome, or something more serious? Google's got me worried about measles. The rash started on his face this morning but he's got patches of it on his body now too. Slightly raised/bumpy rash. He's a bit warm but not got a fever.

What does this rash look like to you?

Just looked up NHS site for measles. It does look like it, but does he have any of the other symptoms they talk about? It doesn’t just produce a rash. The patient will have other symptoms. Has he been unwell? Has he been vaccinated?

Looking at slapped cheek and it says that can spread to the body too. Best to ring your GP tomorrow for advice.
Helpful info here.

Let us know what it was, OP. x

He's had the MMR so it shouldn't be measles I suppose. It's just that my daughter had slapped cheek a while ago and this seems different to that. He's not really got other symptoms - no fever and no rash/spots in his mouth. It's not got any worse overnight so I'm thinking it's a viral rash.

Took him to the doctor, who thinks it could be scarlet fever, so he's got antibiotics for that. The rash spread over his body this morning but he hasn't really got other symptoms. Thanks for the responses.

Poor pet, glad he isn’t too sick with it.
