Local knowledge of M1 corridor, jcts 32-21?

I find myself with a free afternoon tomorrow and will be traveling on the M1 between junctions 21 and 32 with time to stop off and shop for new house bits.

I was wondering if anyone can recommend a retail park not too far off the motorway where I might find a few home stores in close proximity to each other - not looking for any particular shop; Dunelm, IKEA, Next at Home, The Range, M&S and anywhere else that you might recommend!

Ikea Nottingham is just off J26. I've never been there and it's one of the older Ikeas. I think there's also a retail park in the area.

If it's not hugely out of your way, there's also Ikea Sheffield just off J34, which is very new, seems bigger than the other Ikeas, and getting in and parking seems easier than some of the other ones eg Gateshead. It's also opposite Meadowhall.

I'd pick Sheffield Ikea over Nottingham, but not sure whether it's worth going a little out of your way to go to what is probably the better shop.

There's all that of J34 from memory.

Depending on your timing you might not have a lot of shopping time - horrible roadworks both north amd south bound from (I think) jnc 23 to jnc 25.

McArthur Glen is just off the Mansfiled junction. Stay in the left hand land as it's very soon once you're off the motorway.

Unless there's another one, the designer outlet is just off J28 and I don't think this is what the OP has in mind. It's also not a patch on the other outlets at York or Cheshire Oaks or even the one on the M62 at Castleford.

Hi - there’s a McArther Glen outlet at Junction 28. It has Denby, Bedecked (which sells duvets and towels) and lots of cookware shops. Also a small M&S and Next. It’s an outlet so can be variable but is usually good.

If it’s actual furniture you are looking for Ikea retail park at j26 (mentioned before) also has a big home section in Next and a Laura Ashley, barker and stonehouse and TKMaxx.

J28, not 34!

Nottingham Ikea is just off junction 26 at Giltbrook Retail Park.
There is also Decathlon, Next, Barker and Stonehouse, Laura Ashley and various eating places.
