I’m in a state just from being run down and I need some advice as feel so,so dreadful

I have pain. Awful pain. Apparently it is IBS and ‘inflammation’. A UTI (on antibiotics)
Also the worst most painful itchy and unsightly rash ever it looks like I ha e severe chickenpox and I feel at my lowest ever
I broke a bone recently too so am really feeling sorry for myself
Drs have recommended painkillers and medication to help the cramps but nothing else they can do and I have a cream for the rash and string steroid cream for eczema

Honestly i feel awful. I’m so much pain and discomfort and I don’t know what would help?? I eat well but maybe I need extra vitamins ? I don’t know what to do

Have you been investigated for bowel disease (Crohn's/Ulcerative Colitis)? Many people with these conditions spend years being told it's IBS. Have you ever had any blood come out into the loo?

FaithInfinity · 02/09/2018 21:21

Has the GP done any bloods? Considered coeliac disease? IBS should be an exclusion diagnosis where they rule out other conditions such as coeliac and Crohn's before they diagnose you.

Flowers for you. I had awful abdo pain problems - on and off for several years then severe for 6 months before finally being diagnosed and treated for endometriosis.

You need a full rheumatology screen. Ask for a rheumatologist appointment maybe?

Blubellesmum · 02/09/2018 21:51

Sounds like diverticulitis. My mum had it and was dreadfully sick. She ended up in hospital for several weeks from it. If your having the mucus discharge ask your go about this disease.

She can't eat anything that has a seed on it or in it like a grain bread or strawberries..

exhaustedrundown · 02/09/2018 21:51

I will make a gp appt. I will ask for the tests for rheumatology.
I feel like my body has just turned on itself 😔

*gp... 😳

I think you should ask about a colonoscopy too (if you haven’t had one?). It’s not as bad as you’d imagine, the prep is the worst bit. Anaemia with bowel symptoms should be investigated further, not just written off as IBS.

Get to the GP quick, OP. Passing blood is not IBS and don't let them fob you off. The mucus is a symptom of Crohn's/colitis.

Timeforabiscuit · 03/09/2018 07:48

Just to echo what AhAgain advises, taking a good look at what parts of your life are sustainable long term, you say youve been run down - what caused this and how long have you been feeling like this?

Its scary when health stuff chamges quickly and drastically, hope you find yourself steady soon.

Have you had your Vit D levels checked? Low levels make you more likely to have fractures and inflammation.
