Is this my period or Something else?

Name changed as I don't want this to be associated with my usual name. I've been on here a long while.

So for context, I'm currently 18 weeks post birth and I'm not EBF any more for that past 1.5 months. I've since been Mix feeding. It's worth noting that I irresponsibly dtd without protection whilst I was EBF as I was told it works as contraception for the first 6 months by the MW.

Recently, I have been feeling faint like I have low blood pressure and have thrown up a few times too just randomly. I've been cramping like my periods coming since Friday and all of yesterday. (TMI I'm sorry) yesterday I went for no2 and as I wiped, there was a lot of blood and so assumed it was definitely my period. I've been cramping up until last night. I haven't bled since that one time in the morning and nothing today either. I have, however, been vomiting all day whenever I eat something and feel generally unwell.

I guess what I'd like to know Is if this is my period returning but very slowly and if anyone had anything similar.

I haven't had similar, although of course it's easy enough to find out if you're pregnant, and if you're concerned about the pain and bleeding then best to see your GP. I'm Shock at your midwife telling you breastfeeding was adequate as contraception though.

I've taken 2 tests, 1 a couple weeks back. Both negative.

It's quite a few weeks after birth but I would be taking myself to a doctor about this.

Could be a combination of a bug and period but I wouldn't chance it.

You should see your doctor OP. Call 111 this evening and see what they say

bellydanceriwish · 02/09/2018 22:47

My gut feeling is that it's just a cold mixed in with the period trying to come but of course I could be wrong.

I'll call them tomorrow. I've not had the chance to yet.

I forgot to mention, I did have some spotting about a month ago or so but it was only the once

Did you manage to get an appointment? Is the blood bright red or is it darker? Hopefully it is nothing to worry about but best to get checked out

bellydanceriwish · 03/09/2018 19:01

I called 111 and they made it sound serious Confused but said I should speak to a GP which I did. He wasn't concerned and said just keep an eye and it's probably my period returning.

Hope the GP is right OP . Keep a diary of when it happens. Another possibility is it's haemorroids. Most probably though it is your period retturning. Hope you're okay x

GirlsBlouse17 · 07/09/2018 20:02

How did you get on OP?

bellydanceriwish · 08/09/2018 23:25

I've been cramping mildly but it's stopping now. Still no bleeding. Took another pregnancy test just in case but it was negative. Must be my body preparing itself for my period Confused

I guess so. Hope you're okay x

bellydanceriwish · 09/09/2018 23:19

Thanks for checking on me x
