What’s the worst bbq you’ve been to?

We’ve just survived th annual horrendous bbq at my brother’s. Every year they have a bbq for their son’s birthday, and it’s a nightmare. My brother is miserable as he hates his in-laws and they cluster at one end of the garden and ignore everyone else, they don’t do enough food (ie one pack of sausages and a dozen burgers for 20-25 adults), there’s one couple who whilst knowing there won’t be much food pile their plates high after sitting next to the table so they are first in line. This time there was also a new gym buddy of my brother this year who likes to tell everyone that will listen about his one night stands... The worst bit is my nephew doesn’t get to invite his friends or even get a cake! So tell me about your bbq nightmares! 😆

The worse one I've ever been to was many years ago at BIL's now EXGF's house. She was a drug dealer (grew weed in her house and garden), everyone including my BF (now DH) went indoors to smoke and get high, leaving me outdoors and alone because I didn't 'do' weed. At the time I didn't drive and couldn't just leave, but was on the verge of walking to the nearest station about 2 miles away. EXGF the next day told BIL that I was a miserable cow for not joining in and staying outside. She was a nasty piece of work and I was so glad when she and BIL split a few years later.

Other horrible BBQ was at BF's house with above BIL, EXGF and PILs. MIL cooked out of date food for me, I felt quite ill after and was off work sick most of the following week. MIL tried to cover her back by calling my DM (still lived at home at the time) and saying we needed to let Environmental Health know I was ill Hmm
