Cooling a Baby's bottle - Is this ok?

Hi folks! Smile

Baby and I have tried the ready to go bottles while out and about and he's not much of a fan! Sad So my plan was to take a flask of hot water out to mix with the powder and a bottle of cooled boiled water to top up and create the right temperature. Is this ok to do? Confused

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Yes, as long as the powder is mixed with hot water and you've got the correct amount of water in total, it's fine

It’s what I always did. To make sure you get the right amount, for a 7oz bottle I’d take 5oz cooled boiled water in a sterilised bottle plus a spare empty bottle. To make up a feed I’d put 2oz boiling water from a flask/kettle in the empty bottle, add the powder then the water from the other bottle.

That’s how I made all my bottles - saves spending £80 on a perfect prep

It's fine, just be aware that you need to measure out the cool water and not just top up as you can end up giving slightly too concentrated feeds which isn't good for them.
