How much to spend?

How much would you spend on someone's birthday present that you had been seeing for around 5 months?

It would depend on how serious we were and what my overall budget for birthdays was like.

If fairly serious (for 5 months) and I had plenty to spend on presents then probably about £50. I don't think I'd want to go too overboard at that stage.

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking a bottle of good whiskey, some chocolate and a meal out. Does that sound like enough?
