Advice about issue at work

My brother works as a support worker for a charity. He called me from work on Monday and was really upset. I managed to calm him down over the phone but once he got home he completly broke down.

Eventually, he said that he had been having an issue with someone at work and had a 3 way meeting with his manager present that day and the person had basically spent an hour questioning my brothers professionalism and insulting him (on a very personal level). He did say that the individual was challenged by his manager but they quickly started to insult him again.

He works in supported accommodation and whilst he won’t be directly dealing with the individual again he will still have to see them on a daily basis.

Since the meeting he has been really struggling; tearful, struggling to eat, not sleeping very well and is generally very down. He has continued to go to work but seems to be struggling with this and is not enjoying it at all.

He has previously been sworn at, called names, threatened, spat at etc at work but this doesn’t seem to have bothered him at all.

I have tried to ask him why this is effecting him so much but he isn’t sure. It seems to have really knocked his confidence in himself.

He is usually such a happy upbeat person and this has been such a drastic change. I am concerned about his wellbeing and really want some advice on how to help him / what to do next...
