New kitchen, reasonable??

We're getting a new kitchen - so excited so might not be thinking straight. We've had a quote for full installation, about 16 units, laminate work top, fridge freezer, double oven (one is combi), hob, fan. £10,900. I've looked online and we could get same appliances for about £500 less. That's making me question the total cost. Just wondered what's usual??

It does seem slightly on the expensive side but it depends on the quality of the doors etc. What kitchen is it?

Oddcat · 01/09/2018 21:03

That sounds quite reasonable to me , does cost depend on what part of the country you are in ?

Who makes the kitchen?
Mine was the same price but has quartz worktops.
Does that price include fitting?

Is it wren? Their installation is extortionate. And shit too. We paid 3.5k installation and it’s not up to standard really.

Sounds a similar size to my kitchen and about the same price but I have quartz worktops

How long is a piece of string? Surely it depends on the brand? A Poggenpohl kitchen would be 10x the price of an IKEA kitchen.

Ginmakesitallok · 01/09/2018 21:32

It's a magnet one. Went to wren a few years ago, the plans they drew up were shit, and wouldn't fit in the space we have.

Ours was about 20k which included the floor tiles, range oven, fridge/freezer/dishwasher/microwave. We have granite work tops.

BarbaraofSevillle · 01/09/2018 22:04

Ikea are great quality and design for the price. I think ours cost about £5k for the units and worktops, and total including fitting and two fancy AEG ovens was about £8k and we have 18 units, 6 of them 2 metres tall and a massive island with a stupidly expensive extractor to go over it.

ihatethecold · 02/09/2018 06:38

Does that include fitting op?
It’s very important that the kitchen is fitted by someone who really knows what they are doing.
