Eight children over for sleepover 9-10 y o and I need games for them to play, indoors or outdoors now without many props. Movie time is not for another 90 mins and after giving them some activities earlier, they are now looking to me for more. Please help!

Floor is lava?

Wink murder?

Singlenotsingle · 01/09/2018 18:24

Treasure hunt in the garden? You could give points for every item found and a prize to the winner?!

LillyBugg · 01/09/2018 18:25

Outside with a ball. All in circle with legs apart but feet touching the person beside you. Try and get the ball through others legs. If you get someone they are out and have to sit down.

Items on a tray covered with a tea towel. Give them 30 seconds to look at it. Remove one item. First to guess what went missing when they look again wins.

Send them outside with a football
Nerf wars
Xbox
The park
Walk the dog
Hide and seek (in the park so your house doesnt get wrecked)

Paper based games: heads bodies and legs or consequences

Running around games: traffic lights, port/starboard, even grandmothers footsteps or what’s the time Mr Wolf. Hokey Cokey. I know you play these with smaller children too but my 10 year old would get massively giggly playing them with her friends.

Ask them what their favourite game at school or cubs / Brownies is? I bet a few of them have ideas themselves.

Sardines (in tHe house) or house and garden if you’ve got a big garden.

Duck, duck, goose or drip, drip, drop depending on clothing situation!

Splat is another good one with that age group/ number.

I think there's a website called ultimate camp resource - I used it when I ran kids camps

These are brilliant!

Taking of brownies, what is that game when they sit in pairs with legs outstretched and you number them and they run up and down when their number is called - is it called ladders? Can you play it with eight? I’ve only seen in played in a group of twenty plus.

Yes, that’s ladders. Don’t think 8 would work because you need pairs to make the ladders, then a pair to do the running up and down. Hope movie time comes on quickly!
