What folly have I bought and how do I get the fuckers to fit my ears?

Last night, on my way to work, my earphones gave up the ghost.

I bought another pair this morning, but HMV had few wired earphones that weren't ear buds.

I hate ear buds. They hurt.

So I got them home but I can't for the life of me work out how to put them in/around my ears.

I've spent about half an hour on this.
I've tried to play music, but it was faint and tinny, so I'm clearly doing something wrong.

Can anyone help me with a 'Earphones for Dummies' style description of how to make the feckers fit my ears.

Pointers towards videos or diagrams are most welcome.

I genuinely need help here....😱

Those are in-ear ones. Push the front bit in (oo-er) and the little bits at the top should fit around the curved bit of your inner ear. (Apologies for my lack of anatomical terminology )

Those are great, actually, cos they don't fall out and you don't have to put them over the ear to get them to stay in.

Forgot to add! How you have them in the 3rd pic is fine. If the sound isn't great that might be the quality of them unfortunately
