Normal after Mirena IUD fitted?

I posted a couple of weeks ago about having my Mirena coil fitted. All has been ok just stayed crampy on and off. Last three or four days I've had quite regular cramps that are more painful than normal period cramps and are sometimes one sided and quite sharp. My period cramps are normally more of a dull, sickening sensation if that makes sense. My period would normally be due now so I'm thinking that's why, but would like to hear if it sounds normal to others? I've taken paracetamol occasionally but otherwise managed. No infection symptoms that I can tell.

I'm off on holiday on Monday and I have previously had a copper coil that did similar (though worse) and I ended up having it removed while on holiday due to the pain so I'm a bit nervous now.

I had similar experience. I had a copper coil which made cramps worse than usual and a much heavier flow. It fell out eventually possibly due to my mooncup. So I tried a Merina instead and right from the start periods stopped altogether and it was a bit crampy to begin with but settled down and now I get a lot less severe cramps and a little nausea around the time of when my period would be. These symptoms are very slight and much more manageable than the copper coil or a normal menstral cycle.
