Dd (7) is going into year 3 on Monday and has been looking for a backpack for a few days.
She already has a Smiggle one which has taken a battering over the year ( glittery type with an ice cream on ) so wanted something different.
She finally decided on one from Claire's. It's not what I would have chosen but is at least practical. The website shows it priced at £20 and as I was heading to Liverpool this afternoon to finish ds's uniform shopping I said I would pick it up.
What a shock when I got to Claire's and the exact same bag is now in fact £35!
I queried it of course and was told that basically they are more expensive in the store as it's "buy 3 items get 3 items free"
But they're not free really are they? £20-£35 is quite a difference and I came home without the bag as I could not afford that.
Anyone had similar experiences of this? I can't help thinking it's wrong. Dd is not happy and I'm going to have to wait until Tuesday when I will have more money to buy it online and then wait a few days for delivery.
The buy 3 get 3 free option doesn't now seem such a good deal to me.
