I had an abortion 4 months ago which was the worst experience of my life but I haven't had my period since before I became pregnant, I had a minera coil fitted during the procedure but is it normal to go this long without having my period after, any advice? I don't like talking about anything to do with the procedure with anyone so I don't have anyone to ask

No experience of abortion, I hope you are ok.
I think I'm right in sating the hormones in the coil can stop periods same as the pill does.
Take a test or go to the doctor. Could just be your body adjusting amd or stress related xx

I don't think there's anything to be worried about as it's fairly common not to bleed with the coil. Did you bleed at all post the procedure? Was it medical or surgical? I had a surgical abortion a couple of years ago and didn't bleed at all after I left the clinic (only a bit when I first came around).

However, you definitely sound like you ought to have some post abortion counselling if you can't bare to talk about it and see it as the worst experience of your life. Your reasons, I'm sure, we're valid - and talking about them with a professional (or being 'forced' to) can help. You don't want to be avoiding getting health checks because you can't talk about the abortion - which is often very relevant medically when discussing other issues (just like any pregnancy).

It's extremely rare that abortions cause long term fertility issues. As long as you got it done properly at a place where there are fully trained staff, you will be fine. As for the mirena coil, that can delay/stop your periods as it contains hormones.
