Amending a will

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this but I'd really appreciate any advice as I'm clueless when it comes to this sort of thing.

We have a will in place and we want to change who the legal guardian of our dc would be in the event of us both passing away, the solicitor who it's with charges double the cost we originally paid to amend one tiny part!

Can I go elsewhere and take out a new one? Would the old will be revoked automatically if I do this or would both be taken into account?

Any help would be appreciated! Smile

You only need to do a Codicil not a new Will. Solicitor is shocking if he is charging more for a Codicil than an actual Will.

You could go elsewhere and do a new Will then write to the original Solicitor and ask them to destroy your Will as you have a new one.
