Are bunion operations mostly successful?

I have a bunion and it's slowly getting more painful. I wore low heels on Tuesday for a couple of hours and am still in pain from it today Sad

I grew up wearing very sensible Startrite shoes and have always taken care of my feet. But the pain is only going to get worse isn't it?

Is it worth getting the operation done? How long will I have to wait?

Mine was. I was completely incapacitated for three weeks afterwards, was able to walk with difficulty for another couple of months after that, and unable to resume dancing for six months in total. And the pain was dreadful. But ...

it was so worth it. My foot was back to a normal foot. No day to day pain or problems, and should the other one ever need doing I would certainly go for it.

Can comment on how long you would have to wait as I went private.

I had minimal pain and could walk after a week, but the end result looks awful and has left my foot so wide that I can’t wear normal shoes. Also, my ig toe is usually numb.
I was meant to have my other foot done too but won’t. I feel mutilated.
