What does it involve please? I've been unwell and my GP just phoned to ask me to come in for one on Monday - I don't really understand why as I have recently had every test under the sun!

Hi. Sorry you've been unwell. I had pulse, BP, height, weight (to work out BMI), waist measurement (involved in predicting risk to heart health) finger prick cholesterol and blood sugar, questions about lifestyle, diet and family history. Hope it helps look at some things that might improve your health x

NHS health checks are for 40-74 year olds so it’s odd that they asked you to come for one so may just want to update height, weight, bmi, pulse, BP etc and this takes longer than a 10 min slot so may have just booked you in to give the HCP extra time. Not much point doing finger prick glucose and lipid test if you have already had every test under the sun.
