Can you replace Cherry Brandy with cherry syrup when baking?

I know it won't have the alcohol content but maybe the flavour? At this rate, Delia's Christmas cake is going to cost about £4546.60 to make so trying to save a bit of dosh. She must be half pissed with the smell of alcohol every time she makes it ...

Not really. Normal brandy would be better. You can get a miniature

There's normal brandy in the cake anyway, the recipe has normal and cherry brandy in it - 3 tablespoons of each. That doesn't include the port, rum and angustora bitters. She's a demon for booze is Delia.
