Can anyone recommend their quiet kettle?

Am fed up of how noisy some are. But I'm not prepared to spend £150 on one.

Thanks

Don't get a KitchenAid kettle - it has an alarm on it that screams when it comes to the boil - it is just about the most irritating noise possible, and as far as I can see, there is no way of turning it off.

My Kitchen Aid kettle has a soft bing when it boils. We got it because we had a noisy kettle that made DS scream and leave the room slamming the door behind him (think it's an ASD thing). The heating of the water is quiet and the bing didn't bother DS so it was a winner. It was stupidly expensive for a kettle though, but I did a lot of research and couldn't find a recommended one that was cheap. It's a hard thing to research, most of the brands will give you the power and boil time etc, but none of them give a noise level.

I've got a Russell Hobbs Buckingham and its great. You can get it on Amazon for £28.

Thanks. KitchenAid looks nice but, yes, alarm would drive me nuts I think. The RH looks promising.
