Sore Mouth after Surgery

I had unexpected abdominal surgery this week - still on antibiotics and diclofenac and I seem to be recovering ok. The problem
I do seem to have though is a very sore mouth and throat, ulcers and what I can only describe as bruising, it's quite painful to eat.

Not only that I seem
to have a permanently dry mouth and end up with coughing all the time as if there's something lodged deeper in my throat. Could this be as a result of tubes being put in during the 'op? It's really beginning to get me down.

Hi, I've gad many abdominal surgeries. When they intubate you it's cmmln to have the throat issues you talk about, particularly if it's been done quickly. It really should ease up over the next few days. Your body has had a hell of shock this week. Lots of fluids and as much rest as possible!

Thanks, will keep up with the fluids but back to work already unfortunately

Sore throat post-operatively is common but the ulcers aren’t. I think you should see your GP in case you have some kind of infection, you’re likely to be run down anyway.
