Is there anyone awake who has had a hysterectomy??

I am 6 weeks post op and i have started to bleed. I didnt have any bleeding post op. Had some blood tinged discharge started about 2 weeks ok, very light. Tonight i have started bleeding like a period. First was old dark blood and now is fresh bright red

Everything on line says its normal to have some discharge upto 6 weeks post op. It just seems odd to have STARTED bleeding at 6 weeks. Should i be worried??

Are you in any pain, running a fever?

I never had any bleeding post-op from my hysterectomy, but mine was laparoscopic.

I would get checked out by your surgeon of your still bleeding in the morning. Especially since it's bright red blood.

I’d ring 111 for advice if I was in your situation. It might be nothing but bright red blood would worry me if I’m being honest.

I just googled 111services and you can ask for advice from them online. Maybe if you could do that and speak to a nurse it might put your mind at rest?

You may have pulled a stitch internally. What kind of op did you have? (Mine was vaginaly, curvix removed too.

Have you been like lifting anything or driving?

Bleedingblood · 31/08/2018 02:50

Thanks dream i might try the online thingy. I dont generally rate 111, they always tell you to go to hospital!!

Im on my own with 2 fast asleep kids. I REALLY dont want to drag them up the hospital. If i dont move around, then bleeding is very light. Maybe i will just lie still and wait for morning

It was vaginal with cervix removed. I have been driving and cycling today. Not much lifting. But ive been functioning normally since about 2 weeks post op...no bleeding at all until now
