My son is four years old and I have previously taken him to the doctors but were told I was being paranoid etc, however my worries continue.
My son is a clever little boy, active, eats well, sleeps well, interacts well. However he does ‘do’ a few things that have started to worry me slightly more and I would like views from anyone who may like to share.
Whilst watching tv he will rock on the sofa back and forth gently hitting his head on the sofa, he ‘turns’ whatever he has in his hand whilst playing, this can be a pen, a car, a water bottle but he turns is extremely fast with one hand or if the item is large he will hold with hand hand and flick it with the other finger. This is what I took him in for and the doctor was amazed at what he could do and said ‘can you do that? That’s fine motor skills and sent me home.
I have also noticed that when he’s annoyed he does scratch both sides of his head just above his ears.
At one point he didn’t want his hands to get wet and would scream in the shower for me to let him out his hands out of the cubicle, the doctor said ignore it and I did and he’s fine with this now.
These are my concerns and I have a suspicion of mild form of autism maybe but don’t know. Don’t know where to start what to do etcand would appreciate words of wisdom
