Penicillin allergy-Bleu cheese?

Can someone who's allergic to penicilin eat bleu/green/mouldy/whatever cheese? Googling tells me yes, which I don't understand really. Does anyone have more knowledge?

There are some people who are allergic to the antibiotic but not mould, there are some who are allergic to the mould but not the antibiotic, and there are some who are allergic to both.

There are also some blue cheese producers who cook the mould with the cheese, which means that it is killed in the process. You wouldn't have a reaction to these.

Thank you , I think I have been misinformed in the past!My partner is allergic to penicillin and she didn't know either. I bought some fancy bleu cheese I wouldn't normally buy because it was on offer hence the question :)

I have a penicillin allergy OP and I’m fine with blue cheese and any sort of mouldy cheese. May not be the same with everyone though but I react quite badly to penicillin and never had any problems with cheese.

l'm allergic to most antibiotics, and l didn't realise this til l'd had blue cheese twice, and made the connection that my chest was very wheezy afterwards (l have asthma). l tried white stilton, same result.
However, if it's cooked, l'm fine. l'm assuming the heat kills the mould culture it's made with?
