I was at IKEA this morning and came across this parked car. Definitely nobody in it. They had very carefully parked ON THE ACTUAL ROAD BETWEEN PARKING SPACES!!

Between that car park and the stupid one-way systems around the metro centre, that area must have so many traffic accidents!

I'd have been tempted to park in front, and hope someone parked behind him...

Glitteryfrog · 30/08/2018 15:52

Oops.
I'm always amused at the people who reverse into parking spaces in Ikea against a wall and then buy a six foot wardrobe and can't get it in the car and have to turn it round.

BitOutOfPractice · 30/08/2018 15:56

Did they think that the red bit was the spaces and everyone else had just got it wrong?

GinAfterBedtime · 30/08/2018 15:57

I reckon they succumbed to the Ikea madness early and thought they were parking in the space!

Ariela · 30/08/2018 16:01

Difficult to tell, but was there a very slight slope down from the spaces in front of the red car? If so, could they just have left the handbrake off/not applied it far enough, and the car has gently come to a halt in the road?

NellieBee · 30/08/2018 16:02

fucks sake!

Ilovewheelychairs · 30/08/2018 16:11

Are you sure that the handbrake hasn't been left off accidentally and it's not rolled backwards into that position? We've seen that a couple of times when out and about.

Justgivemesomepeace · 30/08/2018 16:12

I'd say they've forgotten to put the handbrake on and the car had rolled.

StoatOfManyColours · 30/08/2018 16:15

It's easily done. Grin

I'm not sure (it's all flat though) but nobody could get down that bit. We told staff inside (hence the photos) but he said several people have already told him, then after a while they got on the tannoy for them to return to their car immediately. It was certainly a talking point!

Seeyounexttue I agree, the whole area around the MetroCentre is awful!
