Changing hours

Currently work 5 days a week on average about 20 hours, but all evening work (so finish about 9pm).

I'm looking at changing my shift so essentially I work 8-8 x2 days a week.

If people have done this (so x2 12 hour shifts) how did you find it?, would you do it again? Any downsides (aside from a long day)

I have one ds who is 2, as it is, I miss out on bath time and dp is finding it stressful having to put ds down each night. I'm also fed up of never seeing dp.

My dh does 12 hour shift 2 on 2 off over 2 week period . It works great for us is home for school run on days off and school hols . When he's in work it's a long day though literally has no time for anything else but for 2 days it's fine he used to do it for 4 days then 4 off which wasn't ideal Sad
In your case it sounds ideal you can work and then be home for kids Smile

Sorry, thanks for that. I was thinking working maybe a Monday and a Thursday, I think working x2 days in a row would mean not seeing ds for 2 days in a row which is appealing at times. I get what you mean about having x2 days where you can literally do nothing if you doing 12 hour shifts.

It seems like a good idea, but most of my great ideas are normally pretty awful Grin

My SIL did 3x12 h days but had to stop when she had kids as she missed them too much. She much prefers 5x8h days now
