Really boring one, sorry!
Just bought a water filter jug from Brita after using one on holiday. We bought exactly the same model, washed everything and ran through a couple of jugs full as instructed, but the water tastes as if it contains methane gas (or, as DP so delicately put it, as if someone farted in it). I tried the water out of the tap and it doesn’t taste even remotely the same, so the problem doesn’t come from there.
I just had another go at washing/rinsing the jug and filter and it’s the filter that smells sulphur like, but it is new.
Are we doing something wrong? We’ve had Britas in the past and not encountered this. Or is the filter dodgy?
