Any opticians around? How do you know you got the upgraded varufocals you paid for?1

I have had problems adapting to varifocal before so I opted for some with a wider angle and paid about £150 above the cost of normal varificals.

When I first went to pick up the glasses, they felt solid on my hands but the reading area was a bit too high and they needed to be sent back to be redone.

I just picked up the corrected pair, but it doesn’t feel any different than the usual varifocal s I struggled with and the glasses feel so light and thin compared to the pair they gave me last week.

I am afraid they have given me basic varifocals instead of the upgraded and considerably more expensive I paid for, how can I know if I got what I ordered before taking them back?

Can you take them to your optician or another company who will be able to confirm.

I worked in an opticians 10 years ago so I may not be up to date, but....Varifocals usually have tiny etchings on the side of the lens to identify. If you take them into an optician they should be able to confirm the brand.

I thought that if I took them back to them, they would tell me whatever they want. Not sure if I can take them to other opticians to have them scanned there in the excuse of ordering a new pair.

I'd go to another optician and explain why you want their help. They can be pretty sure of your custom in future, surely?
