What are these fire engines doing?

Arrived, lights on, parked up - now sat there in darkness. No firefighters in one engine, two sat in the dark in the other one.

What's going on?

Dogging. Firefighters are mad for it.

Are they near Domino's? They've gone for pizza.

If not dogging, they're probably bored and about to set fire to something.

They're across the road, parked by some flats just past my friend's shop, so he checked his camera and his shop is fine - so why are they sat there? They've been sat there just under an hour!

Someone has probably reported a fire and they’ll be going through the building bit by bit, to make sure everyone is ok. They can’t take any chances.

Fitting smoke alarms
Doing safety checks
Someone has reported smelling smoke or other concern and they are looking for the source
Issue with the lift shaft - someone has fallen, or someone is stuck

However, I like the dogging suggestion best

Someone might be trapped in something, like a sex swing, or a toilet, and they need the crew to release them.
