Hi,

I should start by saying that my DD (11) does have issues, socially and it's something that we're all working on, but some days I just feel like banging my head against the wall. A lot of days really.

Basically, I was trying to tidy and sort the entire house and I ask DD to do ONE thing in her room. It should have taken her under an hour and I was adding on time because I know she gets easily distracted.

Anyway, I had to remind her to finish it at least ten times and it still wasn't finished by 3.30! I asked her to start it at 9.30. Then I asked her to tidy up her clothes while I do something and she just wouldn't. She just kept saying "I have done...mum it's fine" which is just a blatant lie and after the millionth time asking her and getting the same response, I just snapped and got really cross. I shouted a lot and said I hadn't asked her to do much etc. I felt bad, but she really was being incredibly awkward. She called her dad (who doesn't do anything for her, so that felt good!) to tell him how horrible I am. Yes, I snapped, but bloody hell I have a limit! I'm trying to do a million and one things and I asked her to do such a tiny thing and had to battle for so long and it still didn't get done. Oh and then she spilt paint on the floor!! Just pure clumsiness, I know. She didn't do it on purpose, but still OH MY GOD! Trying to sell the house, so needed that like a hole in the head!

Anyway, trying to get back on top of things and DD decides it's a good idea to make cup cakes as a sort of sorry, which I know is a nice idea, but she insisted she didn't need a recipe......

So I come down to an absolute state in the kitchen of flower, butter, all kitchen utensils and pots and pans out and used. The ONE room which was tidy! She was attempting to make them using almost an entire bag of plain flower, a teaspoon of sugar and a few knobs of butter! Confused

I know it was the thought that counts, but arrghh. I've given her a cuddle and said thank you, but still ARRRRGHH

Now I have to eat the aforementioned cakes Confused It just gets better and better.
